Yokohama

Opened in 1859, this seaside city was one of Japan’s first harbors to welcome in the rest of the world. It is home to many of the country’s other “firsts” as well, such as the first beer brewery, railway station, and daily newspaper. Adorned with subtle blue accents throughout to compliment the vast Tokyo Bay, Yokohama is often viewed as the birthplace of modern Japanese culture.
